Mayor Warren joined Marisol Ramos-Lopez, Jim Farr, James Smith and Co-Founder of the Lower Falls Foundation Bill Self for a tour of the Lower Falls Gorge lead by Maplewood Neighborhood resident and history enthusiast, Andy Rau.

The Lower Falls Foundation is proud of the Lower Falls’ Kelsey’s Landing now recognized with the National Parks Services‘ Network to Freedom program!

Official notice for Kelsey Landing came in January, said Bill Self, co-founder of the Lower Falls Foundation, which applied for the recognition last year. Mayor Lovely Warren announced its inclusion on Thursday, June 8, 2017.

Mayor Warren joined Monroe County Legislator, Cindy Kaleh, Commissioner Marisol Ramos-Lopez, Recreation Director Jim Farr and Co-Founder of the Lower Falls Foundation Bill Self announced that Kelsey’s Landing, which was located along the national park serviceriver in Maplewood Park, has been designated as an official National Underground Railroad Network (Network to Freedom) site by the National Park Service.
